Creating a home away from home

We take great pride in our facility—but it’s just a facility.

The true heart of Academy for Little Learners is what happens on our grounds. In every classroom and every corner of our outdoor spaces, you’ll find children relishing new experiences and dedicated teachers loving to lead the way. Our easy-to-explore setup empowers children to grow at their own pace, while our talented teachers excite them with well-planned weekly lessons.

4K

Discovery & Honor

We offer 4-year-old-kindergarten (4K) through our partnership with the Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District. Children must be Middleton-Cross Plains residents and age 4, with a birthday on or before September 1.

Our 4K program runs in a morning session, approximately 9-11:30 Monday through Friday. Exact session times may fluctuate year to year according to the district's schedule. For children who need full-time care, we also provide wraparound care. Tuition is free for 4K programming; we charge for wraparound care if your child attends before or after the session ends.

Our Department of Public Instruction licensed teachers teach from The Creative Curriculum, Second Step and Handwriting Without Tears with a focus on:

  • Language development

  • Math and logical thinking

  • Scientific thinking and problem solving

  • Visual arts, music and movement, dramatic play, and foreign language

  • Self help skills

  • Social and emotional development

Virtue

We offer before- and after-school care during the school year, including transportation to and from local schools. After-school care begins with a snack, includes designated homework time, and ends with fun activities and play.

During the summer, our Summer Fun Club includes some learning, some field trips, and a lot of good times. Care is available from 7:00 AM through 5:30 p.m. daily, and we do allow for flexible schedules.

ALL AGES

Outdoor Classrooms

Learning doesn’t happen when children sit still all day long. We value physical activity as much as we do mental activity, a connection to nature as much as we do the ability to recognize numbers.

To encourage and support active play and exploration, we maintain a wide variety of outdoor spaces, including:

  • Special playground outfitted specifically for our under 2-year-olds

  • Bike track for toddler bikes

  • Blacktop for riding toys, ball games, and sidewalk chalk

  • Several separate playground sets with climbing walls, stairs, and slides

  • Standalone play equipment including teeter-totters and spinners

  • Outdoor classrooms with art easels, music equipment, and more

  • Summer splash pad

  • Summer mud kitchen
